An earthquake is a purely earthly affair and is the manifestation on the ground of the pressure generated within the earth's csrust due to the kind of changes constantly occuring in it. The physical conditions of the atmosphere are not much affected by an earthquake. So, an aeroplane flying over a region, where an earthquake is occuring, will generally not be affected. However, due to sudden movements of the earth's surface, there may be some pressure fluctuations in the air above and the aircraft may have a 'rough ride'.
