FIRES

Fires also kill 3,000 people and 100 firefighters every year. Fires also contribute to 15,000 non-fatal injuries annually. In addition to the $15 billion lost every year from fires directly, the indirect cost of fires adds up to about $100 billion. This is the approximate cost in lost economic opportunity.

These problems can all be mitigated if more office buildings install proper sprinkler systems. Functioning sprinkler systems in a building can reduce the death rate of a fire by 57%, and reduce the property damage cost by 68%.
