WHY IS THE COLOUR RED USED FOR SIGNALS?

As you know, sunlight consists of seven colours- 'violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. The rays of different colours are scattered as they go through the air. The indigo and blue rays are scattered the most and the red rays the least. So the red rays can penetrate through a long distance. Red is ideally suited for danger signals because it can be seen from very far off.
